FAQ

How do I prepare for the trip? Do I need a fishing license?

The most important thing is to wear SUFFICIENTLY WARM CLOTHING for the weather. It is always cooler on the water than on land. Jeans are rarely the best outdoor clothing. In addition to warm clothing, you need a valid fishing permit, which you can get online ( www.eraluvat.fi ) or from an R-kiosk. We can also obtain fishing permits for an additional fee of €10.

Who can participate in fishing trips?

Fishing trips are suitable for beginners, but experienced fishermen will also benefit from the guides' local knowledge and expertise. All program services can always be customized to the customer's wishes. You don't need any previous fishing experience, we will teach you.

Types of fishing?

Fishing methods are agreed with the customer in advance according to the best fishing season.

  • Jig fishing

  • Trolling

  • Casting fishing

How many people can participate in a fishing trip?

You can participate in a fishing trip alone or with a large group. For example, a fishing trip for 25 people will be carried out with several boats and a fishing guides.

What kind of equipment are used for fishing trips?

The fishing vessels are three high-quality motorboats and two accessible fishing rafts. Their modern engines are low-emission but efficient. This means that trips are fast, but safe and with the smallest possible carbon footprint.

Modern technology helps to ensure a successful fishing day. Electronic aids allow you to follow underwater life, even if you are not interested in fishing. Rods and reels are of high quality and always the most functional units for the particular type of fishing. Lures are always updated to match the latest trends

How is safety taken into account on fishing trips?

All fishing boats are equipped to meet the strictest safety requirements. In addition, each participant is given a life jacket or, in cold weather, warm jacket for an additional fee. The guides know how to navigate safely even in more challenging conditions. So you can board the boat with peace of mind and enjoy the ride.

Is there a fish guarantee on the trips?

We operate under natural conditions so the guide cannot know in advance whether the fish will eat. We promise to find the fish but the final decision is made by an underwater jury. We do everything we can to ensure that every participant gets a fish and because we spend a lot of time on the water, the probability of catching a fish is good.

What fish will we catch?

The Finnish Fishing Guides Guild Association recommends the following individual catch quotas and maximum sizes for guided fishing trips:

Pike: Maximum 1 piece. Those over 80 cm long are released.
Perch: Maximum 5 pieces. Those over 35 cm long are released.
Zander: Maximum 2 pieces. Those over 60 cm long are released.
Trout: Maximum 1 piece.

In addition to the recommendation, the minimum sizes and closed periods in force in the fishing area and the condition of the catch are naturally taken into account when taking the catch, so that, for example, in trout fishing, so-called wintering fish and fish without adipose fins are always released, and on the other hand, efforts are made to take fish that have been damaged during fishing.
